Lágrimas del Valle 2022 Palo Verde Blanco

Lágrimas del Valle 2022 Palo Verde Blanco

The original champ still undefeated.

Lágrimas del Valle 2022 Palo Verde Blanco came out before I was fully into tequila—back when I thought blanco just meant “training wheels.” By the time I wised up and decided I needed every bottle with a Lágrimas label on it, this one had vanished. Like some mythical agave unicorn, it was gone before I even knew it was legendary.

Now that I’ve tracked one down? Yeah… it’s worth the hype.

The nose is earthy, grounding, like fresh rain on desert soil—if that soil also somehow whispered, “You’re about to drink something special.” Then the flavors hit: cooked agave, a soft citrus sweetness, a whisper of black licorice, and—wait for it—pineapple. And not that fake pineapple candy stuff. Real, juicy, “just fell off the fruit cart” pineapple.

It’s bright, bold, clean, and complex—but not in a “let me light a cigar and overanalyze this” kind of way. It just works. Like a band’s debut album that never gets topped, no matter how many follow-ups they release.

This was the first blanco Lágrimas put out, and honestly? Still the best. Every new release in the lineup has tried to take the crown, but Palo Verde just sits back, arms crossed, and keeps the belt. It’s got the balance, the flavor, the finish… basically, the full package. If this were a high school, the other blancos would be trying to beat it in gym class and getting smoked every time.

If you find a bottle, grab it. Then guard it like it’s the last piece of cake at a family reunion.
