Don Rico Tequila Reposado
Don Rico Tequila Reposado
Funky, fruity, and damn good
Don Rico Reposado brings cooked agave, sweet fruit, and baking spice to the table and it brings them confidently. There’s a nice balance between bright and cozy here. And shocker: I actually picked up the fruit on the nose. Either this bottle is loud, or I’m leveling up. Let’s go with both.
But here’s what really makes this pour fun, the cheesiness. Yep, just like in the blanco, there’s that savory, funky note riding in the background. But it’s not off-putting. It’s a good funk. A flavorful curveball. Kinda like that perfect golf shot where you meant to fade it, but really didn’t, and it still lands five feet from the pin. You take the win and act like you do that all the time.
The barrel aging rounds things out nicely without overpowering the agave. You still taste what this spirit was meant to be—natural, clean, and flavorful. It doesn’t lean too sweet, doesn’t drown in oak, and somehow keeps a playful edge.
Honestly, it drinks like a repo that knows it’s got character. Not trying to be fancy, just trying to be good—and it is. I could see this being a quiet favorite on the shelf. The kind of bottle you reach for when you want something interesting but reliable.
A flavorful, slightly funky pour with solid structure and smooth vibes. If you liked the blanco, this is a natural next step.
