Lágrimas Del Valle Blanco - 2023 El Sabino

Lágrimas Del Valle Plata - 2023 El Sabino

The One That Brought Me Around on Licorice

Some tequilas make a splash. Others just quietly show up, hand you a glass, and change your whole damn mood. This is one of those.

Lágrimas del Valle’s El Sabino 2023 Plata is yet another example of why I can’t shut up about this brand. I have every one of their offerings and plan to review them all like the unapologetic fanboy I am. And this bottle? Yeah—no exception.

Right from the jump, you get cooked agave that’s rich and soulful. Pepper follows close behind, sharp and snappy, like a perfect comeback in flavor form. Then there’s an earthy undertone that grounds it all, making you feel like this tequila knows something you don’t.

But then… there it is. Black licorice. The flavor I once despised as a kid—thanks, Mom. She loved the stuff. I used to make faces just smelling it. And now? Decades later, here I am, sipping a tequila and smiling because that little note on the finish brings her to mind. Funny how life (and flavor) works.

This Blanco is thoughtful. Clean. Honest. It’s not loud or trendy. It’s just really, really good. And somehow, it still flies under the radar while lesser pours get all the attention.

If you’re sleeping on Lágrimas del Valle, wake up. They’re doing everything right, and this bottle proves it once again.
